the march of sadness

Its been a while since I last posted something, i've been busy, i guess.
So here is something I wrote a few months ago while on a writing binge. Its fairly simple, the theme being musical instruments and growing old and creaky -- something like that. Ive fallen in love with the word sadness-madness ... and with the concept of the name of months used as adjectives, like "the january of december", "the slow march of january" -- that sort. so here is something that is simple, yet i still find it nice, and it sits close to my heart, for i wrote it for myself. (^^)

the march of sadness

the drummer strikes the yellowed canvas
ringing the madness of your breaths

bugles break the stained walls of glass
as the light arc shines on the crests

the notes blare on the silenced horns
whose noise fill the voids that yearn

and flutes sing out to he who mourns
as the march of sadness play silently on
